19th Century Arts & Crafts Planter

Manufactured by American Silversmiths Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co., this distinctive, large scale planter is finshed in quadruple-plated silver. The patina is spectacular, rich with iridescent highlights and lowlights. The screwed strapping decoration shows the influence of the Arts and Crafts movement which dates this piece most likely to the 1880s. It measures 16” in diameter from widest point to widest point, with an inside circle diameter of 11”. It stands 9.95” tall from pedestal to top and is 7.5” deep. The planter should not be polished, as the patina is intended to contribute to its overall beauty. Written insurance appraisal of $140 included.

Price: $90.00
